What is Kybella?

Kybella is the only FDA-approved injection to help combat

submental fullness, know colloquially as “double chin.

” The main factor used to eradicate fat is synthetic deoxycholic

acid, which is a molecule that naturally occurs in the body.

This molecule is instrumental in aiding in the breakdown of

fatty cells. Once destroyed, these cells are no longer capable

of absorbing and storing fat, meaning that once the timeline

of injections is complete, the patient will be set for life.

How Kybella Works

Each Kybella session takes between 15 to 20 minutes, focusing on small

injections in the problem area. The number of injections will depend on

the ultimate desires of the patient.. Since Kybella doesn’t involve surgery, it can be down with little interruption to the patient’s daily routine, and it comes with minimalized risks. It also leaves no scars that need to be covered up.

What to Expect

The patient’s profile will take shape after each additional session. With fat cells destroyed, the patient should notice improvements soon after beginning the regimen and continuing throughout the period of injections. As the chin becomes lean, the patient’s naturally smooth neck will reveal itself and the rest of the face will appear more slender too. The natural contours of the face will reemerge without the distraction of the fat pouch attached. The staff can direct the patient on how to best recover from the procedure, which may result in some jaw soreness, swelling, and numbness.

Is Kybella Right for You?

Fat collecting under the chin can occur due to age, genetics, poor diet, or all of the above. We offer a free consultation an outline of the patient’s goals and create a treatment plan. A number of other factors can come into play, such as the size fat deposits, the overall health of the patient, and their medical history. A medical examination beforehand helps determine the health risks involved for the patient, as Kybella can have side effects such as trouble swallowing and nerve damage.
